Rest and Ritual Retreat

Ghost Ranch Education and Retreat Center

April 26 - 30, 2020

Pat McCabe (Weyakpa Najin Win, Woman Stands Shining), our Conference Ritualist, and Stephen Picha, a ritual and logistics elder trained in nature-based retreat work, will guide us as we experience the simple and the deep: baking and breaking bread, walking on the land, creating transmission and empowerment rituals.

In addition, there will be optional day trips to nearby Christ in the Desert monastery, an Eastern Orthodox monastery and visit with the local Sikh community.

Join us for a time of rest, ritual and restoration.

Retreat costs include 4 nights lodging, 11 hot meals, use of the Agape complex meeting area and other Ghost Ranch facilities, conservation fee, and all retreat programming.

There are six types of lodging available to our group, ranging in price from $599 to $1499:

  • Single Private Rooms (1 occupant):

    • Private Room with Private Bath, Upper Mesa OR Main Level: $1499

    • Private Room, shared bath with adjoining room, Main Level: $1399

    • Private Room in Dorm with twin bed, communal bathroom in the hallway, Main Level: $899

  • Shared Room options (2 occupants, price per person):

    • Double bed or two beds with Private Bath, Upper Mesa OR Main Level: $999

    • Double bed or two beds, shared bath with adjoining room, Main Level: $849

    • Shared Room in Dorm with two twin beds, communal bathroom in the hallway, Main Level: $599

Please note: If you love to walk and are of average fitness to walk up and down an incline, the upper level rooms are a great accommodation choice! There is a walking path that brings you close to the Dining Hall, Library and Art Center area. We will ensure that a vehicle transports your luggage at the start and end of the Journey.

Also available at Ghost Ranch for an additional fee:

  • Horseback Riding into the painted desert where Georgia O'Keeffe painted offered twice daily. Sunset rides offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

  • Georgia O'Keeffe Landscape Tour

  • Museums

  • Canoeing and kayaking on Abiquiu Lake

  • Massages

*Registration closes March 12, 2020, or when rooms are full*

Rest, discern and re-energize after four full conference days in this minimally-programmed retreat.

Ghost Ranch is just one hour north of Santa Fe.  Here, huge cottonwood trees border the Rio Chama, mountains rise in the distance and the nearby landscape soars and swoops with cliffs and table-topped mesas, offering vistas that naturally lead you to wonder and contemplation.

We’ll have time to paint, write poetry, ride horseback, and hike.

We’ll be invited to share evening storytime with Native elders around the fireside.

We’ll able to process and ponder the rich teachings and experiences from the conference in sharing circles with fellow attendees and SDI staff, or in solitude.

We’ll have lots of space for spontaneous spiritual companionship to arise.
